what tyres should i buy?

hey guys, just got my set of 40 series pro-line wabash rims. not sure what sort of tyres i should buy. i am after something with great all round performance, something like bow-ties but i am open to any other brand. any suggestions much appreciated. already have axial dirt devils so not those :P

The bowties are a good off-road tire. Asphalt will eat them up in a hurry. If you are going to do asphalt use a non-nub (not sure if that's a word) tire like the OEM tire tread.

It just depends on what you mean by all around.

sorry, off road tyres. i don't use it on bitumen or anything like it. just off road.

40 series are wider then stock and therefore heavier. So something to keep in mind is you may need to change your gearing to run the 40s, but then the engine is big so you may be ok. This was something one would have to do on the TNX 3.0. If you ran 40s, you had to change the spur and/or pinion (cluchbell).

Proline Big Joes are really sweet for general off road. Here is JAnderson's TNX 3.0 with Big Joes:

just re-reading this post again, which way did you change the spur and cb? or was it one or the other? either way, which way did you go with it? hopefully as you said not a problem with the 5.2, but may aswell try. had a massive break from rc (nearly 5 months i think) looking to get back into it again. only need a few more parts for my good tnx and it's finished.

5.2 w/ big joes would be fine. that truck ws my tnx 3.0 and I had the terra crusher pinion and spur in there for the big tires.

Those will not work on the 5.2

ahh of course, should have thought of that. yeah you rate those big joes pretty highly aye. just need something to go on my wabash set.
